THE REVERT 13

Standing on the corner, Ruby is trying to figure out what just happened! Saba dropped unconscious before she did anything. The whole situation changed within matter of few minutes. Before everyone was waiting to see how Saba uncovers Ruby, now everyone is busy with Saba. Brian is trying to look for pulse while Gilman is calling the emergency number for help. Saba's mom is crying and Ruby's mom is trying to console her. Rocky is standing on the other side of the room, still shaken up by the incident. His legs are trembling uncontrollably.

5 minutes later, emergency responders filled up the house. They are checking Saba. Ruby is still on the same place as she was half an hour ago but sitting on the floor. She is just staring at them. Then she noticed the other paramedics bringing a body bag. 

Saba passed away! The whole family is shaken by it, except Ruby. She is still trying to figure out how is she supposed to react to this. Brian and Gilman both look fine. Not sure, whether Gilman is happy that his fiancee died or sad. 

Everyone is sitting in the living room of Gilman's house. Ruby is still sitting in the same place as before. Hasn't moved a bit. Suddenly, Saba's mom ran toward Ruby. 

-" You killed my daughter. You killed my only child."

-" How did I kill her?" Ruby asked with a calm voice.

-" Because of your weird attire, my daughter had a heart attack. Because of you my daughter was stressed out on her engagement. I wish you have died instead!"

Ruby looked at her parents. Both of them are now standing behind Saba's mom. They didn't protest, they just stayed quiet as if Ruby really killed Saba.

-Ruby laughed, " I am sure everyone present here, wishes that. I wish I would have been dead instead. At least I wouldn't be blamed for the death of your alcoholic daughter."

A slap on Ruby's face didn't let her continue. She looked at the person, it was her dad. The dad who always adored her. Eyes are about to get welled up with tears, but she kept telling herself ' control your emotion. Don't let them get the best of you. It's your test. There's always a happiness after a sorrow.'

Few feet away, Brian is standing with Gilman and witnessing all these drama. For a very strange reason, Brian is feeling a soft spot growing in his heart for Ruby. In his entire career, he never felt bad for anyone before killing them not even for his girlfriend. But this is different. He is feeling bad for a covered Muslim woman. His heart is screaming at him to stop this nonsense but his brain is signalling otherwise. As a result, he is just standing there fighting within himself.

-" I had enough with your crap. First you killed Saba and now showing attitude?" Rocky screamed.

-" It was your idea brother. You are the one who encouraged Saba to behave like this. You used her to fulfill what you couldn't do it yourself. If anyone is ever responsible for her death, it would be you, Gilman and Brian."

With this Gilman spoke." How did I encourage her? Stop talking nonsense."

-" Did you try to stop her from behaving like that? You didn't. You let my brother manipulate her. You know very well that I have the right to dress anyway I want it, still you kept quiet. I get it my brother is a half of a man that's why beats up his sister but what about you two? What kind of man you are who doesn't have the courage to stand up against the wrong? So please stay on the same side as my brother! All of you are the birds of a same feather."

Gilman didn't have any reply to this. 

In the meantime, rocky managed to get the crowbar from his car to teach Ruby a lesson. Ruby saw that but didn't do anything but laugh. She had enough of it already. May be it's a good thing, she will get a chance to die as a shaheed. 

-" You love to talk so much, right? This face is what you boast of, that's why all these cover up. Today I'll bring an end to the face of yours!" Saying this, Rocky lifted the crow bar to swing at Ruby. But Brian stopped it. 

-" Just drop it! Don't make me say twice buddy. The outcome ain't gonna be good." Brian's whole face turned red with anger. 

Rocky still didn't want to let it go. He didn't want to miss this chance again. He knows that his parents will somehow save him even if he kills Ruby. He gathered his energy to push Brian away. But within a blink of an eye Brian landed a punch on his face and nailed him down on the ground. 

" Too much energy, buddy? Let me tell you something, if I kill you right now no one will even know that you ever existed. Don't forget that you are in a military base."

And you, Brian looked at Ruby. " What do you think of yourself? You can fight him? Are you one of those women as well who consider themselves equal to men?"

- " I never considered myself to be equal to anyone. No one needs physical stamina or heavy artillery to stand their grounds. No one needs to be a man or behave like a man to be brave." Ruby replied while looking away.

Brian shook his head. ' This woman is something!'
