We fight terrorism, not Muslims!!!!

I know I am not supposed to talk about politicians here. But the situation right now has forced me to take this step. Before I start talking, let me tell you that I am no expert in this!!! I am just an ordinary girl from a very ordinary neighborhood. The neighborhood where everyone is fighting to have their ends meet. So, the politics and politicians really don't matter to us. Still when I see politicians talking about having Muslim communities wear special badge or when the whole presidential debate is based on Muslims, makes me wonder where do we stand in this American society!! Every time I open my Twitter account, I see everyone is talking about radical Islam. What do they mean by radical Islam? Do they mean the ignorant people who kill in the name of religion or the ordinary practicing Muslims  who go to the mosque to pray five times salah, have beard, wear hijab or niqab, do charity??? If they mean the second one, then I am sorry to say that they have  got it all wrong. ...

Let's make America great again!!!!!

Islamophobia has become the most common word at least in last few days in the USA. Every time I surf through the news related to Muslims in my twitter account, only thing I see is how Muslims are hated by almost all the people. After a while, this gets a bit more depressing!!! Sometimes, I ask myself what did I do so wrong for being stereotyped like that!!! I wasn't the one who was present in the Paris attack nor I was in the California shooting. Still getting punished for something that someone else has done....I know that people will tell me Americans are scared of their life that is why they are talking like that. I am an American as well, I enjoy the same freedom as they do, I enjoy the same benefit as they do and trust me I am as scared as they are may be even more!!! I am scared of getting killed by one of those so-called Muslims and I am scared of those Americans who are skeptical of the Muslims. Yes, I have two different kinds of fear going through my mind right now. Every ...

I have met so many people in these 6 years living in the USA. Some of them were Muslims and some of them were non-Muslims. I was asked a lot of questions about my dress. Believe it or not most of them were asked by Muslim sisters. For example, I went to the mall few days ago and was asked by a fellow hijabi sister if I have ever faced a hate crime because of my dress. This sister was wearing western clothing and hijab and I was head to toe covered. She just reminded of an old nightmare where I saw myself being a victim of the hate crime and getting rid off my hijab. This was a nightmare not because it was a hate crime but because I took off my hijab in fear of that, because I wasn't able to practice my religion freely. After the Paris attack and California shooting, this fear has become more apparent!!! It has made me wonder what can we do about this, are we going to be the silent victim again and blame the system for not standing by our side or are we going to be stuck in the hous...

An American muslimah's view on San Bernardino shooting

I know I am definitely not the one capable of any commentary. But for some reason, I felt compelled to express my position in this current situation. Yes, I am talking about the California shooting. I can't speak for the whole Muslim community as some of them are so-called Muslims and don't have any clue what they are doing!!! These so-called Muslims are only a fraction of this large community who are non-violent, peace loving and Allah fearing people. We were taught by our beloved prophet (SAW) not to hurt anyone regardless of our differences. In all the battles against the kuffars, our beloved prophet asked his companions not to break any tree or kill small animals such as ants. So, assuming that we are violent people or we hate non- Muslims is the sign of complete ignorance!!!! Now let's go back to the small fraction of so-called Muslim people. I personally don't know who they are or how do their brain works in this kind of situation. But if I am allowed to assume, I...
