THE REVERT 1

Mornings are always bone chilling cold in this mountaneous village. It's very hard to believe that this picturesque village is in fact a death trap. A wrong move is enough to wipe anyone out of his existence. Especially, person like Brian Thomas. He is sitting with a bunch of other locals around the fire. This is the usual morning routine of these people. Only one exception, Brian is not a local!!

-" This local government is ridiculous. They can't decide how we should live our life. I am young, I have my whole life ahead of me. I don't want any backwarded belief system hold me down."said 22 years old Ali. The rage in his voice is evident.

-"You are absolutely right, buddy. The world is progressing, everything is changing, new opportunities are opening up. You have the right to choose a better life for yourself."said Brian eyeing Ali's reaction.

- " We are so helpless here. We can't even say anything. We can't demand anything. If anyone dares, he is put down by the militants. It's like we are living in a open jail. Look at me, our family has been doing the same farming for past few decades. No one has any problem with that. I don't even know how my face looks without this beard. I don't want to follow the hard and fast rules of the religion. I want to taste the freedom."

- Taking a sip from the cup, "Look there is nothing wrong with being religious and modern at the same time. If all the youth get together, they can bring revolution. This is what happening in the whole world. People are waking up from their sleep. Keep your religion in your heart, this will motivate you.By the way, what's up with your friend Abdullah and his friends? It's been a while I haven't seen him around. I might have to go back soon. Our organization is packing up."

-"Abdullah, I have no clue about him. Heard some rumors that he might have joined some radical groups. They are getting active around here." Ali paused for a minute. Looking at the ground, "Can I keep your laptop? I swear I'll pay. You introduced me to a whole new world through this, it could be really helpful for the youth here."

-"Of course, you can. Consider it as a gift. I would be glad to be a part of this new revolution."said Brian with a smile.

- "What's our next move? Seven days to evacuate. We are no where close to our target."said Gilman. 

- "It will be hard to get the help of any locals here. They are pretty tight knit. Without them it's almost impossible to penetrate this region." Steve replied covering his face with his hands.

-"This was a mistake since the get go. I should've thought about it before signing up. If we die here, no one will ever know what happened to us. My wife and my son will never know the truth." Parker said with tears welled up his eyes.

- Brian gave Parker an annoyed look. " We are not done until I say we are done. We are here for a reason. Remember that. Get me all the infos you can about Abdullah."

 Gilman pulled Brian to the side. - What's going on boss?  - What do you mean? Brian replied pretending to be surprised. -  "Dont play that game with me. I know you too well by now. I saw you roaming around Saba's cousin past few hours. If I am not mistaking, you were having a talk with her. What is it about?" -" I was just curious about her. She is quite interesting and smart. Now please excuse me!" Brian took a sip of the wine and left. Gilman stood there for a good minute or two. He still can't believe his ears.' Some woman sounds interesting to Brian! May's s sleep broke with the morning Ray hitting her face. She raised her hand to cover her face from the sun's glare. Took a few minutes to realize that she is sleeping on the floor. After tahajjud and morning prayer, she didn't feel like going to bed. The mind became heavier than the body could bear.
