Color that matters!!!!

Color does not matter!!! We live in a free country where we have all the laws to protect us from racism or discrimination based on color. This is indeed true. The law definitely has helped us to establish equal rights in our outside world but it is unable to help us to fight the discrimination inside our home. If we take a good look around us, we'll find that every family is racist in this sense regardless of class, color and ethnicity. I generally do not write about anything unless I experience it in my own life. This recent experience has definitely made me realize that discrimination is not only an American issue, it is an issue everywhere around the world. To those people, black is the color which makes them say "Eww" she or he is so dark. It is like people cannot see beyond the color. They cannot imagine any person with a terrific personality or I should say that personality does not matter only color matters. In my culture, marrying a darker skin person means having a house full of dark skinned kids!!! I wish I could express in words how helpless and angry I feel in these situations. Our religion does not teach us racism or discrimination based on color. But these so-called religious people try to avoid people with colored skin as it is some sort of disease!!! I cannot change peoples' minds but I want them to at least think twice before you say or think anything like that. I would like them to think how would they behave or act if their own sons and daughters would be dark skinned!!! I know, people still would not change their attitude as they probably hate their own kids for being dark skinned and trying their best to change that or the fate of the next generation!!!! To me, colored skin gives me the chance to look into a person's soul, to realize how beautiful they are from inside, to love a person based on their personality rather than look!!!

  1. "think how would they behave or act if their own sons and daughters would be dark skinned!!!" Agreed!

Our culture does make us think and feel dark=unattractive but so does society. The ideal model for men and women are 9/10 shown with light skin tone...
